Modi Executive Rolls Out Gst In Historic Tax Reform Because Independence

The biggest tax reform since independence – GST – will pave the way for realization of the goal of “One Nation – One Tax – One Market”.
GST will make India a common market with common tax rates and procedures and remove economic barriers.
President Pranab Mukherjee (C), Prime Minister Narendra Modi (3L), Parliament Speaker Sumitra Mahajan (2R)and Vice-President Hamid Ansari (R) arrive for a special session for the implementation of The Goods and Services Tax (GST) at Parliament House in New Delhi.
In a departure from the normal practice, GST will be administered together by the Centre and States.
It is expected to benefit all the stakeholders namely industry, government and consumer as it will lower the cost of goods and services.
