| Jim Watson/AFP/Getty Images Trump administration still reviewing DACA, official saysThe Trump administration is still reviewing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which grants some protections to young undocumented immigrants, White House homeland security adviser Tom Bossert said Thursday.
Story Continued BelowThe Obama administration program, known as DACA, allows some undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children to work and live legally.
“As soon as the president’s ready to announce the result of our policy process, he’ll do so,” homeland security adviser Tom Bossert told reporters on Thursday.
Trump had campaigned against DACA and promised to end it if elected, but he has since waffled over whether to follow through on the pledge.
Some 800,000 people are protected under the program, which former President Barack Obama signed as an executive order in 2012.
