Deloitte Cyberattack Might Also Have Revealed Blue-Chip Customer Information

The breach could have also revealed usernames, passwords, IP addresses and health information for primarily U.S.-based clients, the newspaper said.
The company contacted governmental authorities immediately after discovering the attack and notified each of the “very few” clients impacted, a Deloitte spokesman said in the statement.
A cyberattack at Deloitte, one of the “big four” accounting firms, went unnoticed for months and may have revealed confidential client emails and plans, according to a report Monday from the British newspaper the Guardian.
Six clients have been told their information was “impacted” by the breach, according to the Guardian.
“Deloitte remains deeply committed to ensuring that its cybersecurity defenses are best in class, to investing heavily in protecting confidential information and to continually reviewing and enhancing cybersecurity,” the spokesman said.
