Review: In ‘Clockwork Orange,’ The Future Is Dark And Very In Shape

That’s the gym-sculpted impression left by Alexandra Spencer-Jones’s staging of Anthony Burgess’s dark, word-drunk fantasy “A Clockwork Orange” at New World Stages in Manhattan.
Most people will know “A Clockwork Orange” from the lurid perfection of Stanley Kubrick’s film.
(A disastrous production by the Royal Shakespeare Company with music by Bono and the Edge should have been an early warning signal for “Spider-Man” producers.
The brawny Jonno Davies stars as Alex deLarge, a name this production takes pretty literally.
But look on the bright side: In the future, everyone is ripped.
