Facebook full of illegitimate opioid ads

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg features said the scope of the opioid crisis was first what surprised him most during his 2017 travels through the entire country.

But all he had to do was seem at Facebook to observe how pervasive the marketing is for these powerful and addictive pain medications.

Sellers right here and overseas are employing Facebook pages and video lessons to offer medications that U.S. regulations say require a prescription, CNBC has located.

Searching on Facebook for the names of probably the most commonly prescribed pain prescription drugs pointed to multiple vendors advertising Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Percocet and additional similar drugs.

This illicit marketing persists 90 days after NBC News highlighted the problem, and weeks after President Donald Trump declared opioid dependency a public health emergency.

The following screen shots show how sellers are employing both Facebook videos and text posts to market these drugs illegally.

This content is easy to find as long as you know what you are considering.

For example, if you enter the name of varied opiates followed by the term “for sell,” you will find information that wont be revealed by typing in “on the market” instead.
