While Safaree and Nicki Minaj may have a checkered past as ex-fans, that hasn’t place a halt to the reality star sharing his thoughts on the Head Barb’s career or, lately, drawing inspiration from her onslaught of bars for Instagram captions.
Early Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 14), Safaree required to Instagram to market his forthcoming project Fur Coat Vol. 1 by posting a photo of himself wearing a fur trimmed leather jacket, of course. While it wasn’t the most obnoxious of his collection, the jacket was fitting for the event.
As for the caption, the aspiring rapper chose to quote none other than Nicki’s potent “Motorsport” verse. “You don’t need smoke with me, that is a laced blunt … that brand hard n****s can’t front,” he wrote. Obviously, the Like & Hip-Hop star’s post caught traction like wild fire in a matter of minutes, which gradually led him to improve the caption. While fans started to unload theories as to the reasons Safaree changed his caption, they aren’t even while remotely far-fetched as the conspiracies taken to light by the verse in question.
Seeing that previously reported, Nicki and Cardi B’s unexpected collaboration on the Migos’ single sent the web into a frenzy merely two weeks in the past. From allegations of difficulty in paradise between Cardi and Offset to Nicki staying unaware of the Bronx femcee’s guest overall look on the tune, many were curious to the way the song actually came about.
Never one to forget the double standards in hip-hop music, Nicki set the record directly and concluded in a series of tweets, “They are men inside our culture who simply refuse to ignore it. They don’t do this to male M.C.’s.”
