Napa Attempts to Lure Visitors Rear With Hotel Discounts and More

Napa Valley, Calif., provides experienced a lot over the last couple of months. In depth wildfires in October kept wineries decimated and hotels and restaurants temporarily closed. But points have improved.

“Our tourism business provides taken a serious hit since the wildfires, but we’re largely back about our feet and eager for visitors,” said Clay Gregory, the president of Visit Napa Valley, the destination’s official marketing organization.

Napa Valley generates $1.9 billion of income each year from tourism, with October, when the fires hit, being the peak month for business. “A large part of our income is lost due to the fires,” Mr. Gregory said.

The glad tidings are that hotels and restaurants are open, and just a handful of the region’s 400 to 500 wineries are still closed, with the ones that survived suffering little noticeable damage, according to Mr. Gregory.

In an effort to entice visitors, some hotels in Napa are providing attractive deals.
