LA Chargers kicker Nick Novak started the overall game by missing a good field target on the team’s opening offensive possession, but a back injury might have been the reason why. He’s questionable to come back and it could be a significant problem for the staff if he isn’t in a position to return, for the reason that Chargers plainly don’t trust emergency choice Drew Kaser with the job.
After an extended drive got the Chargers in chip shot vary for Kaser, the team’s second-year punter, the team instead opted to get a fourth down with 13 yards to get. A glance at Kaser’s warmup on the sideline explains why.
Yikes. That’s a tidy miss of the kicking net, y’all.
Novak has since returned from the locker place to warm-up on the sideline, but it’s not yet determined yet if he’s healthy enough to kick.
Kaser was a good sixth-round pick in 2016 and hasn’t been called directly into kick a field target or extra point in his two NFL seasons. He didn’t perform it either during his four seasons at Texas A&M.
