A 27-year-old man in Connecticut is accused of fatally shooting his 16-year-good old girlfriend in the head before getting into a car accident.
Dominique Pittman of Waterbury has been charged with the murder regarding the the loss of life of Evalyce Santiago. Family of the teen victim explained they had no idea both were romantically included, reported NBC Connecticut.
“The factors that caused this tumultuous end remain under investigation and we’re hoping to resolve that shortly,” Waterbury Police Deputy Chief Fernando Spagnolo said throughout a news conference Tuesday afternoon.
Francisco Rivera, Santiago’s grandfather who raised her, revealed Pittman and the victim’s aunt had several children jointly, reported WFSB.
“Nobody knows nothing until something happens. That’s when we all realize the tragedy. It was under our noses and we didn’t view it,” Francisco Rivera told NBC Connecticut.
Police found Santiago’s human body found in the wreckage of a good crash found in Waterbury on Monday. Law enforcement explained Santiago was in the passenger chair with three apparent gunshot wounds in the head.
Police said Pittman was “visibly shaken” in the scene and had some bumps and bruises.
College officials said Santiago was students at Wilby High School, but had recently transferred from Crosby High School. Grief counselors were offered by both schools on Wednesday and you will be available from then on if needed.
Police said Pittman in addition has been charged with weapons violations, including carrying a good pistol with out a permit and weapons found in a motor vehicle.
